UN RODO CORA
The line up is as fixed as a recipe for pizza. Band members switch instruments, guest musicians enter the ring. All depending on the needs of the song and the form of the day. The world of Un Rodo Cora is a world not unlike ours, but with fewer restrictions and more surprises.
On New York - Barentsburg, their second full-length album, they have once again compiled an astonishing and eclectic collection of songs. We are presented with little stories told in words and sound. Stories from Bo Christo's own personal treasure chest, which seems to contain an infinite amount of fascinating and disturbing items.
With over 20 active members, but only one singer and composer, it's no wonder this Stockholm based collective can achieve such a diverse, yet focused album. Un Rodo Cora manages to combine a very direct and catchy pop feeling with an innovative (and possibly subversive) approach to music.
New York - Barentsburg will continue to spin in your ears long after the CD has stopped turning.
